Point cloud files en format LAZ obtained using a terrestrial laser scanner in the Roman circus of Tarraco (Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain). Specifically, information is presented on the Antiga Audiència, the Roman Circus, Plaça La Font, Plaça Sedassos and the Praetorium. The Tarraco circus was exceptionally built within the late republican city walls. That is why his remains are in the current historic center of Tarragona. The documentation carried out reflects their architectural remains as well as the current urban space.

Fitxers de núvols de punts en format LAZ obtinguts mitjançant escàner làser terrestre al Circ romà de Tàrraco (Tarragona, Catalunya, Espanya). Concretament, es presenta la informació de l’Antiga Audiència, la capçalera del Circ romà, Plaça La Font, Plaça Sedassos i el Pretori. El circ de Tàrraco fou construït excepcionalment dins les muralles de la ciutat tardorepublicana. És per això que les seves restes es troben a l'actual centre històric de Tarragona. La documentació realitzada reflecteix les seves restes arquitectòniques així com l'espai urbà actual.

This data set contains the archives to reproduce the partial photogrammetric and three-dimensional models of the cavea of the Roman Circus of Tarragona. The reconstruction presents the exterior communication to Trinquet Vell Street with the Ima cavea (the lower part of the cavea and the one directly surrounding the arena), and the summa cavea (the higher section). This dataset contains the archives to reproduce the three-dimensional model of the medieval castle, called Castell del Rei, built on the ancient Roman tower, called Torre del Pretori or Pilats, located in the Plaça del Rei in Tarragona. This staircase tower connected the Roman Circus with the upper forum. The Circus-Pretori is a space of approximately 3,240 m2 which has become one of the town's landmarks. This dataset contains the archives to reproduce the three-dimensional model of the monumental area of the Roman Circus of Tarragona today, integrated into the historical center. The model combines the museographic areas with the current urbanism, defined during the 14th century. The Circus is one of the best preserved in the Roman Empire which, exceptionally, was built within the city walls and determined medieval urbanism. This dataset contains the archives to reproduce the three-dimensional model of the Roman Circus of Tarragona in Roman times. Its location was an atypical case because it preferred to occupy large extramural spaces to reduce the costs of expropriation and construction, and thus achieve a broad hypodrome. As construction proceeded alongside the entire 2nd-century BC city wall, connectivity between the two parts of the city was disrupted. It ended in the time of Domitian and was in use until the 5th century, occupying an area of 4 hectares. The Circus became the junction between the residential city and the superior political-religious imperial complex. La seva ubicació fou un cas atípic perquè es va preferir ocupar grans espais extramurs per reduir els costos d'expropiació i construcció, i així aconseguir un ampli hipòdrom. Com que la construcció va discórrer al costat de tota la muralla de la ciutat del segle II aC, la connectivitat entre les dues parts de la ciutat va quedar interrompuda. Finalitzà en època de Domicià i va estar en ús fins al segle V, ocupant una superfície de 4 hectàrees. El Circ es va convertir en el nexe d'unió entre la ciutat residencial i el complex polític-religiós superior de caràcter imperial.
