FINTECH LENDING, BANK MARKET POWER AND STABILITY (2013-2019)

  • Cubillas Martín, Elena
The dataset includes bank-level financial variables, variables related to FinTech lending, and macroeconomic indicators, as well as indicators related to the legal and institutional environment of countries. It contains information derived from databases such as ORBIS Bank Focus (Bureau van Dijk) and other publicly available sources, and it allows for the replication of the empirical analyses presented in the article “Digital disruptors at the gate. Does FinTech lending affect bank market power and stability?” (published in the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money)., Authors are grateful for the financial support from the regional government of Madrid – UAM Research Project for Young Researchers (SI3-PJI-2021-00276). Pedro J. Cuadros acknowledges financial support from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, Project PID2021-128994NA-I00 and TED2021-132896A-100, the regional government of Andalusia under Grant P18-RT3571 Project and P12.SEJ.2463. DATA FROM "DISCOVERING RELATED SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE BEYOND SEMANTIC SIMILARITY: A NEW CO-CITATION APPROACH"

  • Rodríguez Prieto, Óscar|||0000-0003-2168-9962
  • Araujo Serna, M. Lourdes
  • Martínez Romo, Juan
Data from the article "O. Rodriguez-Prieto, L. Araujo, J. Martinez-Romo. Discovering related scientific literature beyond semantic similarity: a new co-citation approach. Scientometrics(120) issue 1, pp. 105-127, 2019. https://doi.org/10.1007/s11192-019-03125-9", We propose a new approach to recommend scientifc literature, a domain in which the efcient organization and search of information is crucial. The proposed system relies on the hypothesis that two scientifc articles are semantically related if they are co-cited more frequently than they would be by pure chance. This relationship can be quantifed by the probability of co-citation, obtained from a null model that statistically defnes what we consider pure chance. Looking for article pairs that minimize this probability, the system is able to recommend a ranking of articles in response to a given article. This system is included in the co-occurrence paradigm of the feld. More specifcally, it is based on co-cites so it can produce more focused on relatedness than on similarity. Evaluation has been performed on the ACL Anthology collection and on the DBLP dataset, and a new corpus has been compiled to evaluate the capacity of the proposal to fnd relationships beyond similarity. Results show that the system is able to provide, not only articles similar to the submitted one, but also articles presenting other kind of relations, thus providing diversity, i.e. connections to new topics., The work of Oscar Rodriguez-Prieto was supported by the Spanish Department of Science, Innovation and Universities under an FPU grant (FPU15/05261).

DATA DOCUMENTATION FOR ‘FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF THE ASYMMETRIC ENF TEST SPECIMEN’

  • Bonhomme González, Jorge|||0000-0003-0363-6373
  • Mollón Sánchez, María Victoria|||0000-0002-4591-8494
The objective of this article is to investigate the asymmetric end notched flexure (AENF) test. The AENF test specimen consists of two sublaminates with different stiffnesses (dissimilar elastic properties and/or thicknesses). A key observation in this test is that AENF test specimens exhibit different fracture behaviour depending on their positioning in the test. Depending on the position of the stiffer sublaminate, ‘local contact’ or ‘global contact’ may occur along the cracked arms giving rise to different contact pressure distribution. This variation in the contact pressure distribution leads to different fracture behaviour at the crack tip: mixed-mode I/II or pure mode II. This work demonstrates that a straightforward experimental or numerical compliance calibration (CC) procedure can effectively determine the total energy release rate (ERR) in mixed-mode conditions (G=GI+GII) or the mode II component (GII) when pure mode II is present, depending on the positioning of the specimen. The criterion established by other authors under which the AENF test configuration exhibits pure mode II at the crack tip was also reviewed. In this case, analytical formulations developed by other authors were compared with the CC procedure and the virtual crack closure technique (VCCT). Finally, this article examines the influence of several test parameters on the mode mixity. These parameters include the specimen degree of asymmetry, the initial crack length, and the degree of the deformation applied during the test. The entire investigation was conducted using the finite element method (FEM)., This research received no external funding.

ENUNCIADOS Y RESOLUCIONES DE PROBLEMAS DE PROBABILIDAD DISEÑADOS POR ESTUDIANTES PARA MAESTRO.

  • Alonso Castaño, Marlen|||0000-0003-0648-7393
