This dataset contains 127 taxa corresponding to species of Mycetozoa included in the orders Ceratiomyxales, Echinosteliales, Liceales and Trichiales present in the Iberian Peninsula.It is based on the taxonomic and chorological work carried out within the Flora Mycologica Iberica project, which results for this groups were published in :Lado, C. & Pando, F. 1997. A focus has been placed on achieving compatibility of databases with existing ones. Aiming a for a broad coverage of users, outcomes will be published in Spanish, Portuguese and English. Through a programme to “train the trainers”, knowledge gained from capacity dissemination events can be replicated to national and specific contexts. Observadores del Mar - Seawatchers is an internet platform aimed at connecting citizens and scientists to investigate together the current state of our seas and oceans. Citizens can participate by contributing with their observations and experience. We wish to understand the effects of global warming, pollution, biodiversity changes, invasions of alien species and overfishing in marine ecosystems. To this end, we collect observations and sightings on the distribution and abundance of marine species, the emergence of rare or invasive marine species or the signs of change in ecosystems (mortality of organisms, amassing of surface and bottom pollution).This platform of projects, linked to ongoing research is coordinated by the Institute of Marine Sciences of Barcelona (ICM-CSIC) and relies on the collaboration among citizens scientists from different national and international centers. The main challenges we have are: (1) to detect global warming impacts in biology and distribution of species; (2) to inform about the appearance and expansion of introduced or invasive species; (3) to inform about the presence of warning species such as jellyfish or pufferfish; (4) to expand the knowledge about biology, habitat and distribution of native species; (5) to report the pollution of coasts and sea bottoms and its impact in marine life and ecosystems Decapod crustaceans (crabs, shrimps, prawns, lobsters, spiny lobsters, hermit crabs,… are a very diverse and still poorly known faunal group, especially so for the wide public. Compared with fish, which are much more evident and easier to watch underwater, crustaceans are much more difficult to obtain reliable information from, since many of them have nocturnal habits, and stay under rocks, buried in the sand or in crevices during most of daytime. Notwithstanding, there is a reasonable number of species that we can be able to see if we watch attentively in the correct habitats, such as crevices or small caves in rocky shores. We aim to obtain data and information on the occurrence not only of the scarce species but also of the common ones. Species that today are common may not be so in a few years time, and inversely, species that today are scarce, or not yet here, may be common tomorrow. This database includes information on porífera collected during several Spanish Antarctic expeditions: Bentart 94; Bentart 95; Gebrap 96; Ciemar 99/00 and Bentart 2003. The expeditions focused from the Antarctic Peninsula to Bellingshausen Sea.Porifera were collected using rock dredge, Van Veen dredge, anchor dredge, suprabenthic sledge, fish traps, scuba diving, Box corer and Agassiz trawl.The dataset now reaches 771 occurrence data that have checked for systematic reliability. This database is not finished and the collection is growing. The data are available in Gbif.

El Real Jardín Botánico ha desarrollado y mantenido diversas bases de datos sobre las plantas de la Península Ibérica. Uno de los proyectos que se desarrollaron en el RJB en la década de 1990 consistió en extraer de la literatura los datos de distribución de plantas. En 1999, cuando esta base de datos contaba con aproximadamente 600.000 registros, se continuó el trabajo a través del programa ANTHOS, financiado por la Fundación Biodiversidad (Ministerio de Agricultura, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente) y el Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas - Real Jardín Botánico (Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad). Desde el año 2006 cuenta con una aplicación desarrollada sobre un sistema de información geográfica (SIG) que integra y mejora los procedimientos y consultas de la anterior, incrementa notablemente el conjunto de los datos disponibles —en la actualidad tenemos c. 1,8 millones—, hasta un horizonte de c. 3,5 millones de registros que estimamos para la bibliografía botánica de España. Además, la nueva aplicación combina la información corológica con otra de tipo cartográfico sobre variables ambientales y mapas de referencia, lo que permite localizar con mayor exactitud las citas de plantas, así como explicar de forma visual los patrones de distribución de las distintas especies. Se ha elegido como ámbito geográfico general del proyecto, la vista de la Península Ibérica e islas de la Macaronesia (Canarias, Madeira y Azores) como representación de las unidades biogeográficas presentes en España, de manera que se pueda estudiar la distribución de un taxon en todo el territorio nacional y zonas aledañas, e integrado en su componente geográfica.Actualmente la información está también accesible a través del portal de colecciones del RJB (http://colecciones.rjb.csic.es/), con lo que conseguimos llegar aún a más usuarios.

Este juego de datos recoge la Lista de Táxones de la Flora Vascular Española presentada como una tabla adaptada al formato estándar Darwin Core. Comprende las especies y subespecies de flora vascular presentes en la Península Ibérica, Islas Baleares e Islas Canarias, además de sus géneros y familias correspondientes (no se han incluido híbridos). Incluye un total de 10.489 taxones dispuestos en 212 familias, 1399 géneros, 7069 especies y 1813 subespecies. Para su elaboración se ha utilizado como fuente primaria Flora iberica (http://www.floraiberica.es) y ha sido completada con taxones mencionados en la legislación (Atlas y Libros Rojos), así como otras obras donde se recogen taxones canarios, alóctonos u otros aún no tratados por esta obra (ver apartado Citations). Operativamente se entiende que un taxon es un nombre científico con una descripción que lo circunscribe, en este caso, las descripciones vienen referidas por la referencia bibliográfica de las obras (floras, monografías, artículos) que las contienen, no obstante 826 se encuentran provisionalmente sin referencia. Todos los táxones, nombres y referencias bibliográficas vienen acompañadas de sus respectivos identificadores que son de tipo LSID (Life Science Identifiers), y por tanto son únicos, globales, persistentes y resolvibles. Para la asignación de los LSID de nombres científicos se ha utilizado IPNI (http://www.ipni.org). En los casos en que IPNI registra más de una entrada para el mismo nombre (incluido el protólogo), se ha elegido el identificador de la entrada más completa o con menos errores. En caso de discrepancia entre los autores de los nombres científicos entre IPNI y Flora iberica, se ha seguido el criterio de Flora iberica y mantenido el LSID de IPNI. Cuando un nombre no se ha encontrado en IPNI se le ha generado un identificador utilizando el servidor de LSID de GBIF.ES, que llevan de prefijo «urn:lsid:recibio.net:name:». Para la taxonomía se ha seguido en lo posible a Flora iberica (incluyendo las listadas como «Especies que han de buscarse») y subsidiariamente el proyecto Anthos (http://www.anthos.es/). The Zariquiey Collection is the collection of crustaceans donated by Dr. Ricardo Zariquiey Alvarez (1897-1965).Dr. Zariquiey Alvarez collaborated with the Fisheries Research Institute of Barcelona (origin of the current ICM), and donated his collection of crustaceans, and the associated library to the Institute. The Zariquiey collection is part of the CBR and is mainly composed by Decapod Crustaceans.Dr. Zariquiey Álvarez, like his father, Dr. Ricardo Zariquiey Cenarro (1870-1943), was a prominent pediatrician and carcinologist. His collection of crustaceans grew with their own personal contributions and with contributions from their international contacts. Dr. Zariquiey Alvarez founded the Group of Carcinologic Studies, with Dr. I. Gordon (British Museum), Dr. J. Monod and Dr. J. Forest (Museum of Natural History, Paris), and Dr. L.B. Holthuis (Museum of Leiden). The best known and studied reference of his works is "Crustáceos Decápodos Ibéricos", published posthumously in 1968. His meticulousness and precision can be seen in the careful conservation of his specimens. He made important taxonomic contributions, including new types. Of the currently catalogued specimens there are types of 5 species.The collection contains specimens mainly from the Western Mediterranean (86%; especially the Catalan Mediterranean) and NE Atlantic (7%; Gulf of Cadiz, Portugal, Galicia, Cantabrian Sea, Bay of Biscay, France, Scandinavia, the British Isles, North Sea). The CSIC team worked in cooperation with the Spanish subsidiary of Dynata to create the electronic versions of the questionnaire available in report D3.1. Dynata Global Spain SL was appointed by CSIC to carry out the data collection in seven EU countries (France, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, and Spain).
