NORMS ACCORDING TO AGE AND GENDER FOR THE SPANISH VERSION OF THE INVENTORY OF DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY SYMPTOMS (IDAS-II)

Frontiers Media SA. https://doi.org/10.3389/fpsyg.2021.748025, Inventory of Depression and Anxiety Symptoms-II constitutes a useful measurement tool with demonstrated psychometric properties that is contributing to the advancement of knowledge of emotional disorders within transdiagnostic models. To implement its use in clinical settings it is important that the scores can be interpreted in order to guide clinical decisions. This study aims to develops normative data for the Spanish version of the IDAS-II. An anonymous online survey was applied to 1072 subjects, recruited through a stratified random sampling procedure taking into account population gender, age and geographical region of Spain. Results show that women tend to score higher than men, particularly on the Dysphoria, General Depression, Appetite Gain and Lassitude scales. Largest effect sizes for differences in the scores according to age were found for Lassitude, Dysphoria and General Depression. Therefore, normative data according to gender and age group for each IDAS-II scale is provided. The norms provided in this work complement those already available, facilitating the decision-making of clinical professionals. DIFFERENTIATION OF SELF AND INTERPERSONAL FUNCTIONING WITH THE LEVEL OF PERSONALITY FUNCTIONING SCALE-BRIEF-FORM 2.0 (LPFS-BF 2.0)

More recently, scientific attention has shifted towards Criterion A, with a considerable set of mixed results both supporting and disagreeing the operational definition of the model. The present study aims to provide additional evidence on the structural and relational differentiation of self and interpersonal dimensions of personality functioning using a quick screener, the Level of Personality Functioning Scale – Brief Form 2.0 (LPFS-BF 2.0), in a community and clinical mixed sample. 1074 participants (717 community adults and 357 patients) completed the LPFS-BF 2.0, the Personality Inventory for DSM-5 Short Form and the Questionnaire for the World Health Organization Disability Assessment. The internal structure of LPFS 2.0 was assessed through a series of Confirmatory Factor Analyses and bifactor modeling was applied to assess the dimensionality. Exploratory Structural Equation Modelling was used to explore the joint structure of functioning and maladaptive traits. Multiple linear regressions, controlling for age and sex, were employed to evaluate the predictive validity of LPFS scales in explaining functional impairment. Our results clearly support a two-factor structure of criterion A (self and interpersonal functioning) when measured with LPFS-BF 2.0. Results also displayed clear differences between the personality functioning factors, with the self-functioning factor more closely linked to facets of the negative affect domains and the interpersonal-functioning factor linked to several antagonistic personality traits. Moreover, our results suggested a relevant role of self-functioning in the explanation of the functional impairment along and beyond personality facets. ALCOHOL PROTECTIVE BEHAVIORAL STRATEGIES IN YOUNG SPANISH ADULTS IN THE COMMUNITY: A PROSPECTIVE STUDY OF PERCEIVED EFFI CACY AND SOCIAL NORMS

However, research on the explanatory factors of PBS is limited. This paper prospectively examines the contribution of perceived effi cacy of PBS in reducing alcohol-related consequences and perceived descriptive norms of close peers´ PBS use in young adults. The mediating role of perceived effi cacy of PBS between descriptive norms of PBS use and personal PBS use is also examined. Method: Targeted sampling was used to recruit a community-based sample of 339 young Spanish adults aged 18-25 years, who completed baseline and two-month follow-up questionnaires. Three types of PBS (serious harm reduction-SHR, manner of drinking-MOD, and stopping/limiting drinking-SLD) were measured. Results: Both perceived effi cacy and descriptive norms at baseline were positively associated with personal PBS use (SHR, MOD and SLD) at follow-up. A partial mediation effect of perceived effi cacy between descriptive norms and personal PBS use was found for the three PBS subscales. Conclusions: Our fi ndings support the usefulness of correcting misperceptions of PBS use by peers in interventions aimed at reducing excessive drinking and alcohol-related consequences in young adults in the community. Moreover, PBS perceived effi cacy should be included as a component of these interventions, Antecedentes: las estrategias conductuales de protección (ECP) han mostrado utilidad para reducir el consumo excesivo de alcohol y sus problemas asociados, aunque la investigación sobre sus factores explicativos es escasa. Este trabajo examina la contribución de la efi cacia percibida de las ECP para reducir las consecuencias negativas del alcohol, y la norma descriptiva percibida del uso de PBS de los iguales, en adultos jóvenes. Además, analiza el papel mediador de la efi cacia percibida entre norma descriptiva y ECP. Método: mediante muestreo dirigido a poblaciones diana, 339 jóvenes españoles (18-25 años) comunitarios cumplimentaron cuestionarios basal y de seguimiento (dos meses), midiéndose tres tipos de ECP (reducción de daños-RR, forma de beber-FB, parar/limitar el consumo- PLC). Resultados: efi cacia y norma se asociaron positivamente con el uso de ECP (RR/FB/PLC) en el seguimiento. Para los tres tipos de ECP se detectó un efecto de mediación parcial de la efi cacia percibida entre la norma y el uso de ECP. Conclusiones: corregir percepciones erróneas del uso de ECP de los iguales puede ser útil en las intervenciones dirigidas a reducir el uso excesivo de alcohol y sus consecuencias en adultos jóvenes comunitarios, al igual que la inclusión de la efi cacia percibida como uno de sus componentes

However, there is a lack of studies that contribute to validate comprehensive models that help teachers to know how to stimulate their students. The objective of this study was to understand the mechanisms that explain the engagement and the positive results of challenging and supportive learning environments. During two academic years, the Sustainable Urban Race (SUR) project was analyzed. In this project, students from secondary schools should design and build an electric vehicle using solar energy. In the present study, an adaptation of the self-system model of motivational development (SSMMD) and a multigroup analysis of structural equations was applied. The data showed a positive association of the challenging and support-enriched context with the students' engagement, being partially mediated by the satisfaction of the competence needs, peer relationships and group autonomy. This study provides a comprehensive approach to develop and assess learning experiences providing inputs that will help teachers and educational managers organize and optimize educational experiences, Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) [FCT-19 -14492 and FCT -20-15499].

Este documento es un conjunto de datos que pertenece al artículo titulado ELEVATING ELDERLY CANCER CARE: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSING'S ROLE IN SENIOR ONCOLOGY PATIENTS' QUALITY OF LIFE publicado en la revista Journal of Nursing Management, Background: According to projections based on current trends, it can be anticipated that from 2024 onward approximately 70% of all cancer cases will be diagnosed in individuals 65 years and older. Given this complex intersection between population ageing and cancer incidence, it is of great importance to address this issue from a comprehensive care perspective. Here comes the importance of advanced practice nursing into play. However, this figure is still not sufficiently valued in many countries. Its roles are also not clearly defined at the international level. For this reason, a systematic review of the scientific literature was carried out to analyze the impact of advanced practice nursing on the quality of life of older adults with cancer. Methods: Searches were carried out in PubMed, Web of Science (WOS), Scopus, CINAHL, LILACS, and ScienceDirect databases. They were limited to studies conducted in the last 7 years. Only open-access articles were selected. To analyze the chosen articles and assess their quality, the criteria of the PRISMA and CASPe statement were applied. All authors participated in both the selection of the articles and their analysis. Results: Of the initial 58 articles selected, a total of 10 articles were finally included, as they met the eligibility criteria established after further analysis. The results show a positive relationship between the Advanced Practice Nursing intervention and quality of life in older adults with cancer. Conclusions: Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) plays a key role in the care of older adults with cancer, significantly improving their quality of life and contributing to the comprehensive care of these patients. The findings evidenced in this work support the integration of APNs in cancer care teams to improve patient experience and overall well-being.

ADULT ADHD SELF-REPORT SCALE: COMPREHENSIVE PSYCHOMETRIC STUDY IN A SPANISH SUD SAMPLE

Datos primarios asociados al artículo publicado en Journal of Attention Disorders.https://doi.org/10.1177/1087054716664410, Objective: The purpose of this study is to provide reliability and validity evidence of the Adult Self-Report Scale (ASRS) scores on different versions and scoring procedures in a Spanish substance use disorder (SUD) sample. Method: The sample was made up of 170 outpatients diagnosed with SUD. The ASRS, the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI), and the Substance Dependence Severity Scale were administered. Results: The results of the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) showed adequate fit to the structure proposed by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (4th ed.; DSM-IV) in the 18-item version. On the screening scale, best fit was found for a model with two correlated factors (inattention and hyperactivity). The exploratory factor analysis (EFA) showed that the ADHD items converge and are differentiated from symptoms of withdrawal. The regression analyses showed that severity of dependence is explained by the ASRS scores. Conclusion: Both versions of the ASRS showed adequate psychometric properties. The polytomous or dichotomous score is relevant in patient classification.

The Protective Behavioral Strategies Scale (PBSS) is one of the most widely used and well-validated instruments for evaluating these strategies. However, a Spanish adaptation of this or any other measure of PBS is not available. We aimed to provide a Spanish version of PBSS-20 and examine its psychometric properties. Method: We recruited 538 undergraduate students from three Spanish universities (mean age = 21.2; females = 78%). Measures included the Spanish-PBSS-20 (S-PBSS-20), Young Adult Alcohol Consequences Questionnaire (YAACQ), Daily Drinking Questionnaire, and frequency of alcohol use, drunkenness, and binge drinking. Results: Our results support the use of the original 3-factor structure of the PBSS-20. Internal consistency reliability ranged between 0.71-0.77, and evidence of validity was provided according to the expected relationships with other variables. Exploratory factor analyses provided evidence of convergent/discriminant validity of S-PBSS-20. Conclusions: The results suggest that PBSS-20 is a useful instrument for assessing protective behavioral strategies in alcohol users. The S-PBSS-20 could be useful for research on alcoholrelated protective behavioral strategies and consequences, and could also inform the design of educational interventions for promoting the use of protective strategies and reducing alcohol-related negative consequences.

This study analyses psychosocial adjustment and sociometric status in primary education pupils, and possible differences by gender. A cross-sectional survey was undertaken in Huelva (Spain). The surveyed schools were selected using a stratified random sampling technique with both public and private elementary schools. Sample was composed of 247 4th grade students. Data revealed gender differences in psychosocial adjustment, particularly in terms of prosocial behavior in girls and behavioral problems in boys. Popular and rejected statuses presented opposing adjustment profiles, particularly in hyperactive symptoms and behavioral problems. When the sample was separated by gender, the differences between the types of status in emotional symptomatology and prosocial behavior disappeared. In addition, the differences between statuses were greater in boys, and were defined mainly by hyperactivity, whilst for girls these differences were more apparent in behavioral problems.
