2 files.-- Supplementary files for https://doi.org/10.1080/10871209.2024.2423924, Recreational hunting, particularly trophy big game hunting, significantly influences large territories and demands specific wildlife management measures. The pursuit of maximum hunter satisfaction can compromise species conservation. Is key to identify the factors that drive the satisfaction of recreational trophy hunters. We investigated the factors influencing recreational trophy hunters' satisfaction in Southern Spain. We attended 20 dog-driven Iberian red deer hunts, collecting geographical and biometrical data from 556 hunted specimens and conducting 159 face-to-face surveys with hunters. Based on partial least-square path models, we found that overall satisfaction was positively correlated with achievement, appreciation, and service dimensions. Contextual variables, including hunters' experience, hunting scenarios, and individual and group hunting bags, showed different effects on these satisfaction dimensions. Several dimensions of hunters' satisfaction were affected by management decisions, which may have implications for conservation within our study system and broader implications for natural game management versus canned hunt practices, Peer reviewed

a) Two 90° apart views of the whole cryo-EM map of the P1-Fab(P1/MCA4) complex. The map is crispy, with well-defined side chains, for most of P1 and also for the Fab variable module (VL-VH). Inset shows the map at the epitope-paratope interface (same color code as in Fig 1a). b) The quality of the map allowed the identification of a large number of solvent molecules in the N-terminal domain of P1., Peer reviewed

OPTIMIZING ULVA‑PHAEOBACTER CO‑CULTURE: A TWO‑PHASE LIGHT INTENSITY APPROACH FOR INTEGRATED MULTI‑TROPHIC AQUACULTURE APPLICATIONS

14 pages, 5 figures, Incorporating macroalgae like Ulva species into integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA) enhances sustainability by filtering effluents and provide epiphytic bacteria, that can contribute to disease prevention. Colonizing Ulva ohnoi with Phaeobacter sp. 4UAC3 is promising for disease control in IMTA systems, but high light intensity impacts Phaeobacter’s persistence on Ulva. This study investigated the effect of different light intensities and regimes on the ability of Phaeobacter sp. 4UAC3·to colonize U. ohnoi. Experiments assessed algal growth, water physicochemistry, and microbial profiles using culture techniques and 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Light intensities of 143, 75, 45, and 0 μmol photons m−2 s−1 were tested on U. ohnoi and non-living surfaces inoculated with Phaeobacter sp. 4UAC3. Results showed that Phaeobacter sp. 4UAC3 colonization on U. ohnoi decreased in the light but remained stable in the dark. On non-living surfaces, Phaeobacter persisted regardless of light intensity, suggesting light does not directly affect the bacterium. However, light had an impact on microbial community structure on U. ohnoi, with genera including Glaciecola, Maribacter and Roseobacter significantly enriched under higher light conditions. This suggests the disappearance of Phaeobacter sp. 4UAC3 is in part a result of competition with specific bacteria. Additionally, the chemical microenvironment of the algae influenced by light could be important in Phaeobacter disappearance, although further research is required. Finally, optimal co-culture involved alternating dark and low-light (45 μmol photons·m−2 s−1) phases, enhancing Phaeobacter sp. 4UAC3 maintenance and optimal algal growth. This knowledge will optimize a fish-algae IMTA-RAS using Ulva colonized with Phaeobacter, Open Access funding provided thanks to the CRUE-CSIC agreement with Springer Nature. DATA AND CODE FROM DOWNSCALING MUTUALISTIC NETWORKS FROM SPECIES TO INDIVIDUALS REVEALS CONSISTENT INTERACTION NICHES AND ROLES WITHIN PLANT POPULATIONS

Repository containing datasets and code for manuscript entitled "Downscaling mutualistic networks from species to individuals reveals consistent interaction niches and roles within plant populations".
Please refer to makefile.R for project outline, explanation and codes used, and to the README.md in networks folder for data structure and compilation.
For this study, we compiled 46 empirical individual-based networks on plant-animal seed dispersal mutualism, encompassing 1037 plant individuals across 29 species from various regions. We compare the structure of individual-based networks to that of species-based networks and by extending the niche concept to interaction assemblages, we explore levels of individual plant specialization. We examine how individual variation influences network structure and how plant individuals "explore" the interaction niche of the population., Peer reviewed
