This dataset contains the molecular, demographic, and clinicopathological data generated in a study evaluating circulating long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) as minimally invasive biomarkers for the diagnosis of non-metastatic colon cancer. Plasma expression levels of nine candidate lncRNAs were assessed by RT-qPCR in a training cohort of patients with histopathologically confirmed colon cancer and healthy controls, followed by validation in an independent cohort. Five lncRNAs (CCAT2, HOTAIR, LINC00909, PVT1, and UCA1) were consistently detectable in plasma and were further evaluated as diagnostic biomarkers. The dataset includes normalized expression data (ΔCt values), demographic and clinicopathological characteristics, ROC analyses of individual biomarkers, logistic regression model development and validation, calibration analyses, and decision curve analyses. These data support the development and external validation of multivariable diagnostic models integrating molecular biomarkers with demographic variables, demonstrating the potential utility of circulating lncRNAs for minimally invasive detection of colon cancer. The files included in this repository provide the data necessary to reproduce the main figures, tables, and statistical analyses reported in the associated manuscript., The Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, the State Research Agency (AEI), and the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) (Grants PID2021-123183OB-I00 and PID2024-156199NB-I00), the Government of the Principado de Asturias (Grant IDE/2024/000677), and Fundación Ramón Areces (a predoctoral fellowship)

DATA FROM "LECTIN-MIMICKING APTAMER AS A GENERIC GLYCAN RECEPTOR FOR SENSITIVE DETECTION OF GLYCOPROTEINS ASSOCIATED WITH CANCER"
- Díaz-Martínez, Inés
- Miranda Castro, Rebeca
- Santos Álvarez, Noemí de los|||0000-0002-5216-6825
- Lobo Castañón, María Jesús
The study addresses the challenge of detecting cancer-related glycoproteins by targeting abnormal glycosylation patterns. A DNA aptamer (PSA-1), originally selected for the glycan moiety of prostate-specific antigen, is used as a lectin-mimicking receptor. This aptamer was incorporated into an electrochemical sandwich biosensor for detecting serum amyloid P (SAP), a glycoprotein with increased sialylation associated with pancreatic cancer. The biosensor combines an anti-SAP antibody for capture and the PSA-1 aptamer for detection. Two antibody immobilization strategies were compared: protein A-based and boronic ester-based, with the latter reducing nonspecific interactions and improving performance. The optimized platform achieved a detection limit of 6.4 ng/mL in human serum, demonstrated high selectivity against other glycoproteins, and showed potential for generalization to other sialylated biomarkers.

- Álvarez Rabanal, Felipe Pedro
- Sañudo Fontaneda, Luis Ángel
This dataset contains the data collected during the hydrothermal monitoring carried out at the Living Lab located on the Mieres Campus (Asturias, Spain). Temperature and heat flux were monitored inside seven dry-type green swale models. Additionally, the outflow rate of each model was monitored, as well as the climatic parameters., Carlos Rey Mahia received support from the University of Oviedo and Banco Santander through funding provided by the predoctoral scholarships PAPI-21-PF-23 and PAPI-22-PF-8. The equipment and materials used were acquired through the research projects FC-GRUPIN-ID/2018/000221 and AYUD/2021/51328, funded by the Foundation for the Promotion of Scientific Research and Technology in Asturias (FICYT), as well as through the projects FUO-21-226, FUO-21-348, and PAPI-23-GR-COM-05. Additionally, the EXCADE Chair in Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Oviedo provided support for the funding of the facilities.

HOSPITAL ENERGY MODEL IN ENERGYPLUS FORMAT WITH DEMAND AND CONSUMPTION DATASETS FOR FOUR HEAT PUMP INTEGRATION SCENARIOS UNDER OVIEDO CLIMATE CONDITIONS
- Fernández, Francisco Javier|||0000-0003-0419-3762
This dataset supports the study "The integration of heat pumps into the thermal systems of hospital facilities to advance their transformation towards zero-emission buildings". It includes the full EnergyPlus simulation model of a medium-sized hospital building. The dataset provides detailed energy demand and consumption profiles under four different system configurations with the climate of the northern Spanish city of Oviedo. These data are intended to support further research on hospital energy modelling, and performance analysis of HVAC systems in healthcare environments.
