Rosado Galparsoro, Leyre, Samanes Pascual, Javier, López Taberna, Jesús, Gubía Villabona, Eugenio
Optimal pulsewidth modulation strategies are commonly used in power electronics applications with closed-loop controllers. However, there is a lack of specific studies in the literature that analyze and study the dynamics of these modulators, which makes it difficult to derive small-signal models for stability analysis and controller design. Moreover, in many studies, the influence of optimal pulsewidth modulation on the small-signal stability analysis is disregarded. This article addresses..., This work is part of the projects PID2019-110956RB-I00 and TED2021-132604B-I00, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR. Rubia Galiano, María Isabel, Larrainzar Rodríguez, Estíbaliz, Arrese-Igor Sánchez, César
Soybean plants are one of the most cultivated legume crops worldwide. Their ability to establish nitrogen-fixing symbiosis with rhizobium bacteria allows the reduction of molecular nitrogen to ammonium, contributing to a reduction in the dependence on nitrogen fertilizers. However, nitrogen fixation is highly sensitive to environmental stresses, such as water deficit, and the regulatory mechanisms underlying this inhibition remain debatable. In the current study, we analyzed carbon (C)..., This work was supported by grants PID2021-122740OB-I00 funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033, ERDF: A way of making Europe and TED2021-130111B-I00, Next Generation funding. For 0 < p < infinity the unit vector basis of l(p) has the property of perfect homogeneity: it is equivalent to all its normalized block basic sequences, that is, perfectly homogeneous bases are a special case of symmetric bases. For Banach spaces, a classical result of Zippin (1966) proved that perfectly homogeneous bases are equivalent to either the canonical c(0)-basis or the canonical l(p)-basis for some 1 <= p < infinity. In this note, we show that (a relaxed form of)...

The field of plasmonics has substantially affected the study of light-matter interactions at the subwavelength scale. However, dissipation losses still remain an inevitable obstacle in the development of plasmonic-based wave propagation. Although different materials with moderate losses are being extensively studied, absorption arguably continues to be the key challenge in the field. John Stuart Mill and proportional representation. A misunderstanding
Repositorio: Academica-e. Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad Pública de Navarra
Urdánoz Ganuza, Jorge
Mill scholars usually classify as 'proportional' the theory of political representation sustained by John Stuart Mill. However, Mill did not use the term 'proportional' in his texts, and 'proportional representation' as understood today has little to do with what Mill really proposed. A hypothesis is offered to explain the origin of the 'proportionalist' interpretation that was accepted at the beginning of the 20st century. It is concluded that..., This work was supported by the Spanish Government under Grant DER2015-69217-C2-1-R.

Our first main result proves that every element of order 4 of a Sylow 2-subgroup S of a minimal non-2-nilpotent group G, is a real element of S. This allows to give a character-free proof of a theorem due to Isaacs and Navarro (see [9, Theorem B]). As an application, the authors show a common extension of the p-nilpotence criteria proved in [3] and [9]., The first and the second authors have been supported by the grant MTM2014-54707-C3-1-P from the Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad, Spain, and FEDER, European Union. The motor unit profile, a representation of the trajectories of positive and negative turns of a scanning-EMG signal, is a new way to characterize the motor unit potential. Such characterization allows quantification of the scanning-EMG signal's complexity, which is closely related to the anatomy and physiology of the motor unit. To extract the motor unit profile, an algorithm that detects the turns of the scanning-EMG signal and links them using point-tracking techniques has been..., This work has been supported by the Spanish Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO), under the TEC2014-58947-R project.

In this paper an automatic adaptive antenna impedance tuning algorithm is presented that is based on quantum inspired genetic optimization technique. The proposed automatic quantum genetic algorithm (AQGA) is used to find the optimum solution for a low-pass passive T-impedance matching LC-network inserted between an RF transceiver and its antenna. Results of the AQGA tuning method are presented for applications across 1.4 to 5 GHz (satellite services, LTE networks, radar systems, and WiFi bands..., This work is partially supported by RTI2018-095499-B-C31, Funded by Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, Gobierno de España (MCIU/AEI/FEDER,UE), and innovation programme under grant agreement H2020-MSCA-ITN-2016 SECRET-722424 and the financial support from the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) under grant EP/E022936/1.

To compare the effects of short-term (i.e., 7 weeks) plyometric jump training applied before (PJT-B) or after (PJT-A) soccer practice on components of physical fitness in young soccer players, a single-blind randomized controlled trial was conducted. Postpubertal boys aged 17.0 ± 0.5 years were allocated to 3 groups: PJT-B (n = 12), PJT-A (n = 14), and control (CON; n = 12). The outcome measures included tests to evaluate 20-m speed, standing long jump (SLJ), squat jump (SJ), countermovement...

Trabajo presentado al Symposium on Eye Tracking Research and Applications (ETRA ’20 Short Papers). Stuttgart, 2020, In this paper, we evaluate a synthetic framework to be used in the field of gaze estimation employing deep learning techniques. The lack of sufficient annotated data could be overcome by the utilization of a synthetic evaluation framework as far as it resembles the behavior of a real scenario. In this work, we use U2Eyes synthetic environment employing I2Head datataset as real benchmark for comparison based on alternative training and testing strategies. The results obtained show comparable..., The authors would like to acknowledge the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities for their support under Contract TIN2017-84388-R.
