FINTECH LENDING, BANK MARKET POWER AND STABILITY (2013-2019)

The dataset includes bank-level financial variables, variables related to FinTech lending, and macroeconomic indicators, as well as indicators related to the legal and institutional environment of countries. It contains information derived from databases such as ORBIS Bank Focus (Bureau van Dijk) and other publicly available sources, and it allows for the replication of the empirical analyses presented in the article “Digital disruptors at the gate. Does FinTech lending affect bank market power and stability?” (published in the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money)., Authors are grateful for the financial support from the regional government of Madrid – UAM Research Project for Young Researchers (SI3-PJI-2021-00276). DIGITAL LENDING AFFECT BANK PERFORMANCE: COUNTRY AND BANK-LEVEL (2013-2019)

The datasets include country- and bank-level financial variables. Specifically, the variables refer to 67 countries and 6,205 commercial banks. They contain information derived from databases such as ORBIS Bank Focus (Bureau van Dijk) and other publicly available sources, and allow for the replication of the empirical analyses presented in the article “Does alternative digital lending affect bank performance? Cross-country and bank-level evidence”, published in the International Review of Financial Analysis., Pedro J.
