ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE ON AUTOCORRELATION IN INTENSIVE LONGITUDINAL DATA: POLYNOMIAL (STRAIGHT LINE, QUADRATIC…) ‘VS’ AUTOREGRESSIVE MODELS

While the theory of longitudinal data analysis (LDA) has a solid foundation, there are instances where the assumptions of the analytical model remain unverified. Failure to examine autocorrelation in residuals (ACR) can elevate the risk of committing a Type I error, leading to the rejection of a true null hypothesis. This study compares two distinct analytical models within LDA: the polynomial (straight line, quadratic…) model and the autoregressive (AR) model. Three separate studies were conducted to investigate this comparison.

Datasets are available in CSV format, being the field delimiter « , » (comma). For further clarification, please look at the README files of every data subset., Part A of this dataset is publicly available at http://hdl.handle.net/2445/137318, This dataset refers to PERCEIVE tasks 2.4 and 2.5. These tasks analyze the data sets developed by PERCEIVE task 2.1 in order to identify, quantify and synthetize the most important variables to asses identification with EU by citizens. The results feed an update of the data set developed in task 2.1. Finally, these data is be used to model convergence of EU citizens' identification in the case study regions. Data consists of the quantitative statistical information used to produce all the results of WP2 and the indicators regarding the variables of interest obtained by means of different statistical techniques. Moreover, data on absorption of EU funds, provided by the EC and other research centres and collected in task 2.5, is be gathered in this data set, together with the results of convergence analysis. This data set is be used to evaluate the EU citizens’ perception of the EU project in relation to regional performance of the cohesion policy and institutional quality. WP2 uses primary data from the survey developed in WP1 (“PERCEIVE: WP1: Framework for comparative analysis of the perception of Cohesion Policy and identification with the European Union at citizen level in different European countries: Task1.3: Survey at citizen level” data set) and also comparative case studies on EU countries and regions, coming also from WP1 (”PERCEIVE: WP1: Framework for comparative analysis of the perception of Cohesion Policy and identification with the European Union at citizen level in different European countries: Task1.1: The framework for the comparative analysis” and ”PERCEIVE: WP1: Framework for comparative analysis of the perception of Cohesion Policy and identification with the European Union at citizen level in different European countries: Task1.2: Focus group with Cohesion Policy practitioners” data sets). The data set incorporates data from existing sources including Eurostat and information resulting from the Survey conducted at WP1 of the PERCEIVE’s project. As regards secondary data, no additional treatment is needed. Info about the sources of such data, including references to technical details, is provided in the dataset's codebook.

RAW DATA: SYNTHETICALLY-INDUCED ARABIDOPSIS THALIANA AUTOTETRAPLOIDS PROVIDE INSIGHTS IN THE ANALYSIS OF MEIOTIC MUTANTS WITH ALTERED CROSSOVER FREQUENCY

• Mutations affecting crossover frequency and distribution lead to the presence of univalents during meiosis, giving rise to aneuploid gametes and sterility. These mutations may have a different effect after chromosome doubling. The combination of altered ploidy and mutations could be potentially useful to gain new insights into the mechanisms and regulation of meiotic recombination, however, studies using autopolyploid meiotic mutants are scarce. • Here, we have analyzed the cytogenetic consequences in colchicine-induced autotetraploids (colchiploids) from different Arabidopsis mutants with an altered crossover frequency. • We have found that there are three types of mutants: i) mutants in which chiasma frequency is doubled after chromosome duplication (zip4, mus81), as in the control; ii) mutants in which polyploidy leads to higher-than expected increase in chiasma frequency (asy1, mer3, hei10, mlh3); and iii) mutants in which the rise in chiasma frequency produced by the presence of two extra chromosomal sets is less than doubled (msh5, fancm). In addition, the proportion of class I/class II crossovers varies after chromosome duplication in the control. • The results obtained reveal the potential of colchiploid meiotic mutants for better understanding of the function of key proteins during plant meiosis. This is especially relevant considering that most crops are polyploids.

Our study aimed to compare the effectiveness of microscopic and DNA metabarcoding approaches in assessing the abundance and diversity of epilithic diatoms, while also exploring the suitability of metabarcoding as a reliable biomonitoring tool in Andean freshwater ecosystems. For this, 16 samples from the Guayllabamba River Basin in Ecuador were analyzed. Microscopic analysis involved the taxonomic identification of at least 600 valves under a light microscope. The molecular approach involved amplifying a rbcL region of approximately 1500 bp and conducting high-throughput DNA sequencing using Oxford Nanopore technology.
