"Stable isotope ratios and elemental contents of C, N and S in an Antarctic sea urchin, Sterechinus neumayeri, sampled during the TANGO1 and TANGO2 expeditions in the Western Antarctic Peninsula (2023, 2024)” is a sampling event type dataset published by SCAR-AntOBIS. This dataset supported the elaboration of the paper entitled “Realized dietary specialization in an Antarctic keystone species, the sea urchin Sterechinus neumayeri” by BAYAT M., LILLI G., GEORGE I. F., TERRANA L., MOREAU C., DANIS B., DOGNIEZ M. and MICHEL L. N., submitted in the Marine Biology journal. The reports (in English) are available at: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8013722 https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.11653689 This dataset contains records of 250 specimens of Sterechinus neumayeri based on SCUBA diving collection during the TANGO1 and TANGO2 expeditions along the Western Antarctic Peninsula, from 13 February to 19 March 2023 and from 5 February to 8 March 2024, respectively. The data is published as a standardized Darwin Core Archive and includes for each sampling event an eventID, date, time, location, depth range when applicable, and sampling protocol (in the event core). For each occurrence, an occurrenceID, materialEntityID, organismID, siteID, eventID, event information, sampling protocol, depth information, latitude and longitude, status (present/absent), taxa classification, samples identifiers, preparations, specimens measurements, stable isotope ratios and expeditions whenever applicable are specified in the occurrence extension. Each measurement associated with a sampling event or an occurrence record has a measurementID, measurement type, measurement value and measurement unit in the measurement extension. This dataset is part of the TANGO project funded by the Belgian Science Policy Office through the BRAIN-be 2.0 programme (BELSPO project B2/212/P1/TANGO). This dataset is published as open data with technical support provided by the SCAR Antarctic Biodiversity Portal (biodiversity.aq) (BELSPO project RT/23/ADVANCE). ABUNDANCE OF EGGS AND LARVAE IN THE CATALAN COAST DURING THE FISHJELLY SURVEYS IN JUNE 2011 AND JULY 2012 [DATASET]

  • Sabatés, Ana
  • Raya, Vanesa
Data obtained in oceanographic surveys conducted off the Catalan coast (from 40.15˚N to 42˚N and from 0.5˚E to 3.6˚E). Vessel Name: García del Cid, This dataset gives information on fish eggs and larval diversity and abundances, integrated through the water column, off the Catalan coast in two oceanographic cruises in summer 2011 and 2012. The investigation showed the associations between larval fish assemblages and oceanographic conditions in the upper ocean (top 200 m). In addition, the study investigates the possible pathways for the jellyfish, Pelagia noctiluca, intrusions over the shelf to understand the interactions between jellyfish and fish larvae, Role of vertical mixing processes and dense water formation in the spawning strategy and recruitment of winter breeding fishes in the NW Mediterranean. However, their application requires safe and cost-effective production platforms. PeAfpA is a highly active AFP naturally produced in large quantities by the phytopathogenic fungus Penicillium expansum, and biotechnologically produced by the Generally Recognized As Safe fungus Penicillium chrysogenum although at lower yields. Here, the production of PeAfpA using the P. chrysogenum strain PCMG11552 was optimized in 0.5 L and scaled up to 5 L in stirred-tank bioreactors. A competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA) was developed to evaluate the influence of process parameters on PeAfpA production, identifying medium pH and agitation rate as key factors, while dissolved oxygen proved critical during scale-up. The PeAfpA yields obtained were tenfold higher than those achieved previously in flask cultures, demonstrating the feasibility of scaling AFP production from laboratory to pilot scale for diverse applications. Finally, the P. chrysogenum marker-free PeAfpA-producing strain obtained via recyclable CRISPR/Cas9 system guarantees regulatory compliance and biosafety, making it suitable for its use in any commercial environment., Financiado por la Agencia Estatal de Investigación (PDC2022-133894-100), Figure 1- Optimization of competitive ELISA assay for PeAfpA quantification.-- Figure 2- Assay for the evaluation of PeAfpA in bioreactors culture.-- Figure 3- Effect of initial pH on PeAfpA production.-- Figure 4- Effect of agitation and aeration on PeAfpA production.-- Figure 5- Antifungal activity of PCMG11552 bioreactor supernatants.-- Figure 6- Markers free mutants producing PeAfpA.-- Figure S1- Optimization of competitive ELISA for PeAfpA.-- Figure S2- Growth of the P. chrysogenum PCMG11552 strain.-- Table 1- Analytical parameters of the optimized immunoassay for PeAfpA dissolved in different media.-- Table 2- Effect of process parameters on PeAfpA production., Peer reviewed

TRIPLE-POINT PHASE DIAGRAMS FOR BTO-BASED CERAMICS [DATASET]

Crystal structures were characterized by SXRPD experiments as a function of temperature. Data were collected on the Material Science and Powder Diffraction (MSPD) beamline at the ALBA Synchrotron using 0.41368 A wavelength. Rietveld analysis of the X-ray patterns was performed using the Fullprof package program. The dielectric constant was derived from measurements with an impedance analyzer (Wayne Kerr Electronics 6500B), applying sinusoidal excitations of 1 V amplitude at a frequency of 50 kHz. Measurements were conducted on sintered disc-shaped samples, with typical dimensions of 8 mm diameter and thickness between 0.5 and 1.5 mm. Electrodes were made with silver paste in sandwich geometry., The temperature-composition structural phase diagram of the BTO-based ferroelectric system Ba0.94Ca0.06Ti1−xHfxO3 (0.05 ≤ x ≤ 0.15) is investigated using high-angular resolution synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction and dielectric permittivity measurements. In contrast to the well-known structural phase transition sequence of the parent compound BaTiO3 (rhombohedral → orthorhombic → tetragonal → cubic, upon heating), Hf4+ doping into Ba0.94Ca0.06Ti1−xHfxO3 results in the gradual disappearance of the intermediate orthorhombic and tetragonal phases at two different, but close, critical concentrations, 0.10 < xc1 < 0.12 and 0.12 < xc2 < 0.135, respectively, revealing the presence of two triple points in the phase diagram., Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades (PID2021-124734OB-C21); Diputación General de Aragón (E11-23R, E12-23R). 1 file, BIOLOGICAL DATA to estimate the carbon dioxide budget of cultured mussels metabolism in the highly productive Northwest Iberian upwelling system. Álvarez-Salgado et al. (2022) estimated the carbon dioxide and total alkalinity budgets due to the Mediterranean mussels (Mytilus galloprovicialis) growing in suspended culture in a low seston environment such as the Galician Rías (NW Spain). This database contains the biological data needed to estimate the carbon dioxide fluxes and changes in total alkalinity induced by the different biological processes involved in mussel growth.
